Vicki Jo (Smyth) Slaney, age 57, of Richland Center passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Maplewood Nursing Home in Sauk City after a long battle of diabetes. Vicki was born August 8th 1957 the daughter of Joseph and Marlys (Frye) Smyth. Vicki worked at Lands' End in Dodgeville for 10 years before her illness. Vicki grew up in the rodeo circuit with her father Joseph as her coach. Her greatest reward was winning first place in pole bending with the family horse Penny in 1972. Vicki married the former Jeffrey Rott, in which they had two children. She later married Dan Slaney but took different roads.

Vicki is survived by her mother Marlys Smyth of Cazenovia; daughter Kallee (Erik Knueppel) Rott of Baraboo; son Shane (Theresa) Rott of Arkdale, WI; granddaughter Grace Turner; grandsons Ryley Rott and Wyatt Turner; a sister Kathy (Greg) Foley of Reedsburg; 2 brothers Dan (Jean) Smyth of Soldiers Grove and Chad (Fiancé Ralissa Revels) Smyth of Hillsboro; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

Vicki was preceded in death by her father Joseph Smyth.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 20, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Clary Memorial Funeral Home in Richland Center. Pastor Doug Smyth will officiate with burial in the Loyd Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday October 20, 2014 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the Clary Memorial Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the family.
