Air Force

Roger Schwingle, age 79 of Blue River passed away Saturday December 29, 2012 at Our House Assisted Living in Richland Center. Roger was born March 30, 1933 in Richland County to Conrad Sr. & Frances (Pospichal) Schwingle.
He graduated from Blue River High School in 1950 and then enlisted in the United States Air Force. He attended basic training at Lackland Air Base, Texas and then served in Germany and two tours in Vietnam where he was loadmaster on C-130 transport planes. After retirement he returned to the home farm near Blue River. Roger was an avid bowler and Past Commander of the Blue River Robert Shattuck American Legion Post 443.

He is survived by his brother Conrad Jr. (Sandy) Schwingle; favorite nephew Todd Schwingle; other nephews, nieces and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Frank.

Military Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 11:30 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Muscoda with Fr. Peter Auer officiating. Military Graveside rites will also be conducted by the Robert Shattuck American Legion Post 443. The Clary Memorial Funeral Home in Richland Center is assisting the family with arrangements.

The Family would like to thank Our House Assisted Living and Upland Hills Hospice for their wonderful care of Rodger.
