Robert H. Payne Sr., age 72, of Readstown, formerly of Richland Center returned home to his Father Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Vernon Memorial Hospital in Viroqua, WI. He was born on October 10, 1942 in Hamilton, Ohio. The son of Melven and Loraine (Schneider) Payne. On March 17, 1972 he married Geraldine Shepard in Hamilton, Ohio. Robert graduated from Talawanda High School in Oxford, Ohio in 1960. He served in the United States National Guard from 1962 – 1968. Robert was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the Ash Creek United Methodist Church and his relationship with God always came first. Robert loved tractor shows, riding his Harley, his trucking buddy "Schnauzer", his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He always had a story to tell and loved his family most of all.

Survivors include his wife Geraldine Payne of Readstown; 4 children Tonya Payne of Gays Mills, WI, Stacie (Joel) Young of Sextonville, WI, Robert (Bonnie) Payne Jr of Muscoda, WI and Andrew (Gracie) Payne of Readstown, WI; 7 grandchildren, Alexia (Justin) Jones, Logan Banker, Mikalah Banker, Madalyn Payne, Kolton Payne, Archer Payne and Alexis Moen; 3 great grandchildren, Daylen and Jed Jones and Gracelyn Sophia Schweitzer; his mother Loraine (Payne) MacDonald of Richland Center; a brother Melven Payne (Cindy Plummer) of Richland Center; a sister Marjorie Peasall of La Farge, WI; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his father Melven Payne, a brother-in-law Harold "Sonny" Baker, and a very special Aunt Ruth (Ralph) Wyman.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at 5:00 PM at the Clary Memorial Funeral Home in Richland Center with Pastor Jim Berlin officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday October 22, 2014 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Clary Memorial Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Robert's wife.
