Mary F. Schmitz (Randall), age 56, of Bear Valley, WI passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving family after a valiant battle from Pancreatic Cancer. She was born on February 16, 1957 to Raymond and Kathleen (Shackleton) Randall in Mazomanie. On June 19, 1976 she married Hubert "Bert" Schmitz at St. Barnabas in Mazomanie.
She was employed at Schreiber Foods (formerly Dean Foods) in Richland Center. She loved her career and work defined a part of who she was. Her Schreiber family has been a huge support to Mary during her fight.
Mary was a loving wife, sister, and daughter, a dedicated mother, and outstanding grandmother. Her smile and laughter would light up a room. She had a natural ability to be a voice of reason. She was an individual who many people turned to for sound advice and her answers always made sense. She lived life to the fullest and would do anything for anyone.
She was an avid Badger and Packer Fan. She was a wonderful co-worker and friend. She enjoyed being a part of her community by being an active member at St. Luke's Church of Plain, 4-H Club Buena Vista Wonder Workers, Rotary Club out of Richland Center and American Legion Auxiliary Post 437 in Mazomanie.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Wermuth and her team at SPMH for their quick detection of this disease. Words cannot describe our gratitude to Dr. Sam Lubner and his nurse Mary at UW Carbonne Cancer Center for their knowledge, care and compassion to mom during her diagnosis and treatments. They were huge fans of Mary and some of her biggest cheerleaders to help keep her encouraged.

She is survived by her husband Bert Schmitz of Bear Valley; their three children Vicki (Bruce) Hying of Dodgeville, Jean (Kial Silvers) of Richland Center, Kevin (fiancé Bethany Parduhn) of Bear Valley; her mother Kathleen Randall of Mazomanie; she had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren: Ava Hying, Kason Hying and Gracie Parduhn; six sisters Raeanne Lacourt, Patty (Dave) Marking, Cathy (Mike) Barman, Cherrise (Todd) Miller, Dawn Randall, Anna Randall; mother-in-law Wynema "Sue" Schmitz of Spring Green; many nieces, nephews and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Randall; father-in-law Kenneth Schmitz; brother-in-law, Joe Schmitz and a nephew, Jason Randall.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Plain, WI. Father Mike Resop will officiate with burial at St. Killian's Cemetery in Bear Valley. Friends may call on Monday, May 13, 2013 from 4:00 PM t0 8:00 PM at the Clary Memorial Funeral Home in Richland Center, WI. Friends may also call on Tuesday at St. Luke's from 10:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Mary's honor to 4PeteSake, P.O.
