Joseph F. Rego, age 84, died Monday, January 5, 2015 at home in Cazenovia. He was born on September 10, 1930 in Westford Township the son of Peter and Mary (Dooley) Rego. On June 14, 1953 he married Maureen Kilcoyne in Springfield, MA. He loved spending time with his kids and grandchildren. He will most be remembered for his quick wit and favorite line "Variety is the spice of life". Joe was a longtime member of the Teamsters Union Local 404. Joe enlisted in the Air Force and served on President Eisenhower's Presidential Crew in D.C. He was a legion member and a proud Mason of the Elm-Belcher Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his 2 daughters Maureen (Philip) Lapierre of Chicopee, MA, Coleen (Kevin) Rockweiler of Cazenovia; a son Peter (Cristen) Rego of Chicopee, MA; beloved grandchildren Joseph, Brenden, and Erin Lapierre, Tara (Patrick) Cann, Austin and James Rego, Ana and Lexie Rockweiler; his great granddaughter Molly Cann; his 2 brothers Harold (Florence) Rego of Arizona, Roy (Judy) Rego of Arizona; a sister Alice (Ron) Cowley of Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Maureen; a son Patrick Rego; sisters Mary, Leona, Marcella, and a brother Bob.

Upon Joseph's wishes there will be no formal funeral services. Private family burial will be held at a later date. On line condolences can be made at
